Precautions for using recarburizer

Recarburizer is a product used to increase carbon element (C), which is used in many industries. The addition of recarburizers in steelmaking can effectively improve the hardness and properties of steel. However, if used improperly, too much carbon in the steel will also affect the quality of the steel. Therefore, it is very important to summarize the problems that should be paid attention to when using recarburizers, and finishing can effectively improve the use effect of recarburizers.

Note 1. The addition time of the recarburizer cannot be ignored.

The recarburizer is added too early, it is easy to adhere to the bottom of the furnace, and the recarburizer attached to the furnace wall is not easy to dissolve into iron. On the contrary, if the addition time is too late, the opportunity for the recarburizer will be lost, resulting in slower melting and heating time. This does not extend the time for chemical composition analysis and adjustment, and may also cause damage to the ferroalloy due to excessive temperature rise. Therefore, in the process of adding metal charge, adding recarburizer little by little will have a better effect.

For example, in the case of a one-time excessive addition, it can be combined with the overheating operation of the molten iron used in the induction furnace, and the absorption time of the recarburizer in the molten iron is 10 minutes. On the one hand, the carburizing agent is fully diffused and absorbed through electromagnetic stirring, and the absorption effect is achieved. On the other hand, it can reduce the nitrogen content in the recarburizer.

Pay attention to the improvement of the splicing method.

Don't join right away, join in batches. After melting, add a part, put a part (about one bag) of molten iron into the bag, add the recarburizer 1-2 times to the recasting furnace, then discharge the slag and add the alloy. Need to pay attention to the following aspects:

1. The recarburizer is difficult to absorb (without calcination)

2. The carburizing agent has a lot of ash and uneven particle distribution.

3. It is too late to add recarburizer.

4. The adding method is incorrect, add the recarburizer layer by layer. Avoid adding molten iron when there is too much slag on the mirror surface.

5. Try not to use too many anti-rust materials.
